Hosted by Community Connections Collaborative in partnership with community organizations and sponsors working to break down silos to overcome food insecurity together.
The Challenge
Food insecurity continues to impact thousands of families across Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Food Summit aims to change that.
More than 200,000 residents experience food insecurity
Between 13.6% and 17.6% of households lack reliable access to food
Nearly one-third of children live in food-insecure households
Communities of color experience the greatest burden
Recent changes to SNAP benefits have intensified the challenge
Across the city, hundreds of organizations are working to address these challenges including urban farms, food banks, community kitchens, health providers, and local businesses.
However, many of these efforts operate in isolation, often facing similar barriers and competing for limited resources.

The Philadelphia Food Summit is a collaborative effort led by Community Connections Collaborative, Communities That Care Coalition of North Philadelphia, The ‘M’ Movement, Philly Unlimited, Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia, and Small Things Philly, Inc. Together, we aim to replace silos with partnerships that generate real, coordinated impact.
